Travel journal 2013 - 2. part
The teeth, when they hurt you do a simple thing, book the dentist and hope that the bill is not too "salty". This rule applies to all, or almost. Angel is a girl of six years, which came recently with her mom in our Shelter. The difference with the other guests is that she was already been operated for a brain tumor. Obviously, his life is 'ompletely in the hands of his mother, who is with her 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Can't do anything alone. As we do with all the children, even Angel was taken to the dentist. And here is the bitter news. Ten are the teeth that need to be taken care of. So we began a pilgrimage among the various hospitals in the province. Angel is Thai (the mother is from the philippines) and soome medical check and operation have to be made free of charge. But his case particularly difficult to not allow it. First of all you need a dentist pediatrician (which exists only in the biggest private hospital of Pattaya) you need to do one mouth x ray to be sure which teeth have to be cared. Then a Pediatric doctor making further tests (blood ex ray chest) and then an anesthesiologist that tests if you can practise on total anesthesia in order to finally fix the problem. Finally we went to get us to do a budget to see how much it would cost the entire operation. Without mincing words there would cost about 5000 euro. Of course, the final decision rests with the mother of the little Angel. In the meantime, we are looking for cooperation with other foundations, in case we decide to fix the of Angel. Meanwhile teeth hurt and help of other foundations is nearly zero. But we go forward, we are here to take care of the children and not to maintain our status or worse yet our salaries (which for the most part we do not have). The other children, for now, they are all good, more or less. Many also last month were the visits to our Shelter. First of all a big Thanks to Alfonso that brought with him the "box children" (thanks to all his friends) which bought us nappies and powdered milk for the children of the slums, a compressor and a beautiful trip to the water park. Then we want to thanks Kung and March for the beautiful cakes that our children still dream (expecially at night heheheh). Claudio and Gabriele closed the visits in March, bringing with them aid and above all joy among our younger guests. Finally, our huge thanks as always to all of you who follow us in our crazy adventure. Easter is coming, i hope you celebrate it with our egg and the real hope of a new world. Until next time with something new 'what I would call a real "bomb".
