7. part
.....do you remember Jessy, the little girl with Hiv of whom I spoke in one of the other parts of the Journal?... we went to visit her…..and all the other children to whom you donated a wonderful Christmas…..going back to visit the children and the other people living in the Aids Center in Rayong always strikes us straight through the heart….this time Margherita, Anna, Orsola, Helena and Lehn came along and Father Giovanni showed us around once again….we have no pictures of this event with the fatally ill and the affected children….it was a choice we made….together….to behold and respect each one of them, all those people who fight a daily battle, which sometimes, is lost at the beginning…..after this visit however, we went back to the orphanage for a party….you want to know the reason?....the inauguration of the lighting poles for the football and volleyball field….It was a real party with pizza, cakes and a magic show for everyone….and the kids??...you can just imagine…smiling happily all the way….smiling constantly at all the magic tricks they saw…..it was amazing….and this is all due to the fact that we are here, all of us, and each one of you….this is the reason for which we do all the thrift sales, the fundraising etc….in order to give these children a fantastic moment in time….and February is getting closer….during this month many kids will go to their new families and will travel to distant countries…..they will undergo a journey that brings a tinge of sadness to those
of us who have been taking care of them daily…even though we know they will find a loving and caring family where they are headed…Poon (to Switzerland), Wanwissa (to Germany), Mapan (to Denmark) and many other as well will travel abroad…and after two weeks of hard work Orsola and Margherita have gone back home….tired but happy nonetheless….it was their second experience and it turned out to be very positive indeed….and as two volunteers leave us, another two join us….Sabine and Alex just arrived…and they too, were taken to work immediately…..and were immediately captured by all the smiles and hugs, and in February three more volunteers will arrive……well, let’s see, last year we started with four people….this year we have already doubled that…thank you….koop khun krap…..see you next time…..
