…..Sabine and Alex, our two volunteers from the Trento region in Italy….young, good and patient….they are now touring Thailand but I can assure you that they have left us and the Pattaya Orphanage with great memories…..there are so many things to write…. before leaving the kids with tears in their eyes, the two volunteers said: “We will cherish this experience in our hearts for a very long time”…and the children will not forget them easily…in the meantime the Women’s Tennis Tournament started and we had the honor and the pleasure of having Mara Santangelo as our guest…the Italian athlete and her father Gianni, came by the Orphanage and gave out sweets and lots of love and affection to the kids for a whole afternoon…and now, we will cheer our athlete all the way as we always have,, and she’ll be able to count on some very special support…from all of our children….we also managed to bring to an end the everlasting search for rice…and we were told it will be delivered as soon as possible….and with the arrival of the rice we can say that we have successfully concluded all of our projects for this Winter…..but we still have not finished our job here in Pattaya, where we are daily challenged by some pretty bad surprises…like in the past few days…during one of our trips at the slums where we always give out food and bare necessities, we found the mother of a child affected by Down syndrome with a serious eyesight problem….we had already been looking for her for a few weeks, we couldn’t find her in her usual place (a hut under a tree)….when we finally found her, she told us she could no longer see…a virus and an infection had closed her eyes a couple of days before…we ran to the hospital to get her first aid….and obviously, due to the presence of a child in the family Tck took care of this very delicate situation as well, though we still don’t know how it will end….therefore, as you can all see, we have once more given you good and bad news together…but as always, we feel that our place is more than ever among these people, the last of the last….’til next time…
