Travel journal 2010/11 - Special Sommer
I never wrote the travel journal during the Summer (which I generally spend in Italy). But this year I was specifically asked to do so, and here I am. You all know that I spend Summers in Italy to raise the necessary funds for our project, but not only for that. I never believed my experiences in Asia had to have an economic return, even though we need the money to carry out our projects, that is not the main objective I work for when I am here in our beloved but shaky Italy. Meeting many people, explaining what we do, trying to send out a message of tolerance towards others, these are some of the many ideas I try to send out as I travel throughout our country.
And I did a lot of traveling this year, burned many Kilometers....almost 15.000....meeting many people, seeing old friends and supporters who have been helping us from the beginning, people who have believed in us from the start...believed in takecarekids....and then one of the this I prefer is meeting with
Italian children...in the schools....meeting their teachers....so I should start thanking all our new and old supporters...like the Camozzi family and Daniela and all those who work for this group....each time I meet them it's like seeing family, a family wh has tied itself with Take Care Kids.....I thank all of Thai Airways staff, headed by my friend Armando, they always welcome me with such affection that I feel at home......I thank Centro Studi Castellaranesi from Castellarano in Reggio Emilia....Giovanna who is always ready to lend a helping hand......and I thank a new group, I call them the Roteglia group, headed by Grazia who sold all her memories for our cause....I thank our friends from the Philharmonic Orchestra in Bardolino, on the Garda Lake, headed by Mario who is the President and loves classical music......I tank our friends from Pro Positiv Bolzano especially Antonella, they dedicated all their hard work to us during the May concert.....and I thank Davide and Miche
le who dedicated their fortieth birthdays to us by throwing a party in honor of Take Care Kids.....and I thank all our friends from the Michael Jackson Foundation Italy especially Ada and Erika who invited us to the parties dedicated to the King of Pop in Turin and Venice.....and I thank our youngest friends Marco and Silvia from Brescia who have sent a great signal to their little friends each year by selling their toys to collect money for the needy.....I thank the little choir in Malcesine and their promoter Ada and our friend Anna who put us in contact with them......and I also have to thank our private supporters who don't want their names to be known but who keep on helping us through the years...and to all those who approached our stands, and once the saw we don't bite, have inter
acted with us by exchanging ideas and giving us precious suggestions...... and I thank all those who probably feel offended right now because I did not name them....and all those who volunteered with us in all these years...and let me say this I thank all those who worked with me this summer especially my wonderful parents......all in all, I don't know who else to thank....I am going to leave now and I will bring our kids all you have given me, all you have said to me and all you have done for them.....we are not infallible, we never will be....but we are sure to be giving everything from the heart...in the meantime be ready because there are many activities going on throughout the Autumn....I hope you'll keep on following what we do in order to give our children a chance at a better life....I am going to give it my best shot as always.....A big hug to all.
